Farhod Janovich

Artist's Name: Farhod Janovich (Bahritdinov)

Was born and raised in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Graduated from three Universities (USA, Ukraine, Uzbekistan)

Arrived to the United States in 2003.

Farhod's work bears traces of his hobbies: hiking, ceramics, anthropological and art history, and inventing new technology and methods. He appreciates the process of mixing paints and building various tones and combinations. Farhod's creative engagement with art began with ceramics and ceramic glazes during his life in Albuquerque, NM and Amarillo, TX. Appreciating synthesis of various objects, and ideas he gains an understanding of the forms, their function, and influences perception of the forms and composition. He develops his own perception of the broken or irregular forms and their attraction.

Farhod sees beauty through the colors and objects of nature and human culture. He believes that artistic self-search is endless, and re-discovery is the prize for daring. An example: listening to Hip-hop on one Saturday morning pushed the series of White Noise, an open-ended project of abstract paintings. The initial piece of the series was selected for the annual ArtWorks Northwest Society show at CAVU Cellars in 2025. Farhod's persistence in positive outlook on personal power and good will encouraged him to share with this outlook via Rose-Colored Glasses series of paintings initiated by the artist in 2024. He lets spontaneity of his artistic creations help with discovery and then with planning and conceptualizing.

Farhod's parents and sisters contributed to the artistic development, networking, appreciation for culture and the knowledge aspect of it, and versatility of his interests.

One of those interests has been Nano Tech, which he utilized to make his invention of Lightning Detection and Warning System based on Quantum Dots. Earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering, he works as a Mechanical Project Engineer. Outside of work, Farhod contributes 20-30 hours per week to art making and self-development, besides volunteering 3-6 hours a month at Allied Arts Gallery in Richland, WA. For the last two years he has volunteered to direct the Tour de Arts show for Artworks Northwest, a popular annual show for Tri-Cities that takes place on the Red Mountain in West Richland.

Farhod Janovich works in different genres and enjoys the beauty of the world of forms and scales. He started his artistic year of 2025 with narrowing his focus on Impressionist and Modernist art techniques. If and when he is looking for inspiration, he is interested in ways of treating artistic impulses, making time to make art, and the process rather than techniques, images, and subject matter. This interest guides him to listen and read about the music composers, sculptors, creative writers, and painters. He has been attributing a high amount of effort to prepare for his solo show at Moses Lake Museum and Art Gallery in May-June of 2025.
