Malaura Bricker

Malaura Bricker is a lifelong Washington resident with roots in the Columbia Basin. Her passion for paper led to a mentorship with Prosser artist Patricia Proebsting, where she learned the fine art of collage, or “painting with paper.

Malaura’s impressionistic style is inspired by the geology and history of Washington. She regularly creates and uses handmade papers with locally sourced fibers or those grown from her own garden. These fibers are often what others
consider “useless little bits,” but they provide the viewer an opportunity to experience natural materials in unexpected ways

.
Malaura’s work is sealed so it can be ever-so-gently touched, creating what she likes to call a "visually tactile experience.” Her use of repurposed and natural fibers also helps further her goal of creating affordable original art.
